Ambassador Petrone new General Manager of the Italy China Foundation

Vincenzo Petrone is the new General Manager of the Italy China Foundation. Petrone - who was Ambassador of Italy to Japan and Brazil and has held important positions in Italian and international shipbuilding - received the assignment from the Foundation's Board of Directors held on November 20th afternoon at the Palazzo Clerici.
The Board also approved the budget for next year and identified in three points the priorities that, under the direction of Petrone, the Foundation will have to pursue in the course of 2019: the training of staff of member companies for a more effective business presence in China; the focus on the economic aspects and commercial penetration of the activities of the Research Center CeSIF; the intensification of promotional events in favor of associated companies, also through the opening of an assistance desk for our companies in Beijing.

"Thanks to the reputation of excellence built wisely over the years, - said President Alberto Bombassei - the Italy China Foundation is able to express a great potential for development that we have a duty to use fully. We must do it in the interests of member companies, increasingly engaged in the Chinese market. In addition to importing and exporting goods and services, there is a growing need to promote and facilitate both Italian investments in China and Chinese investments in Italy".

"It is with great enthusiasm that I accepted this stimulating task. The development guidelines we have received today from the Board of Directors and from the Chairman - confirmed the new Director Vincenzo Petrone - will be at the center of the commitment of the entire Italy-China Foundation since the coming days. A work that will further consolidate the quality of the services offered by the Foundation to its members".

Vincenzo Petrone has been President of Fincantieri and is currently President of Assonave, Italian Association of Ship Builders and Related Industries, Vice President of the Sea Federation, Sea Europe and ENMC, which brings together the European maritime clusters. Previously he was Ambassador of Italy to Japan and Brazil. After the first diplomatic assignment, he was appointed Director of International Relations of Confindustria and later President of Simest. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has also held the position of Head of the Crisis Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the Director General for International Development Cooperation.
