Opas is an Agricultural Cooperative Company and it is the largest Product Organization for the pig Origin Product Designation (PDO), it represents the 15% of Italian production.
The farms are in the pink valley which is the highest livestock vocation area in Italy. By statute, the associated breeders (around 80) have to supply 75% of their volumes belonging to the PDO Parma and San Daniele circuits.
Opas' farm to fork approach and short production chain are the strengths to market fine Italian pork internationally.
The high-quality standard productions take place in the Carpi plant, subjected to numerous audits, for international quality standards.
