IV Business Forum e visita Mattarella in Cina: siglati accordi per Silk Road e Sicurezza alimentare

Margherita Barberis, General Manager of Fondazione Italia Cina, and Marco Bettin, Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation and Secretary General of the Italian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, visited China during the State Visit of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
They also participated in the IV Meeting of the Business Forum Italy China on 22 February. At the end of the meeting, two agreements were formalized: the MoU on Establishing a Silk Road Business Council between the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Italian Foundation China and the Italian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, signed by the Presidents: Jiang Zengwei CCPIT, Cesare Romiti for the Foundation and Pierluigi Streparava for the Chamber of Commerce, and Eat'Safe, signed by Margherita Barberis, General Manager of the Fondazione Italia China, and Qian Yongzhong, General Director of the Institute of Quality Standards & Testing Technology for Agro-Products of CAAS (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences).

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON ESTABLISHING SILK ROAD BUSINESS COUNCIL - The China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is a promoter of a project for the establishment of a Council with institutional and economic promotion activities in geographically located countries 'Ancient Silk Road, aimed at finding opportunities for collaboration within the One Belt One Road program. The project involves the construction of a network of sub-councils in 30 different countries, coordinated by local authorities in agreement with Beijing. Italy, Italy Foundation Italia and Italian Chamber of Commerce will be the coordinators of the Italian Council and the members of the activities and initiatives promoted with the CCPIT and other international partners. EAT'SAFE PROJECT - ITALY CHINA DIALOGUE IN FOOD SAFETY - The Eat'Safe Project aims to promote and develop a scientific and institutional dialogue between Italy and China on food safety, with the ultimate goal of creating both Countries an integrated system able to address the most relevant and critical issues in this field. The first phase of the project, initiated in March 2016, funded by the Italian Foundation by Cariplo Foundation and supported by the Italian Embassy in Beijing, is about to end and its results will be collected in a document and presented in China between March and April. The work of the Sino-Italian scientific committee has led to the definition of research needs between Italy and China on food security and the identification of some priority themes. It was therefore agreed to continue with the collaboration for the second phase of the project, through the signing of a multi-year agreement that will be divided into different themes, developed to generate practical results of immediate usability. At the end of the Business Forum, a joint statement by the two co-presidents was signed, Pirelli's CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera for Italy and Chairman of Bank of China Tian Guoli for China, under which the Foundation's role : "The co-presidents - they read in the document - reaffirm their common conviction that trade relations and economic growth are enriched and improved by exchanges of cultural goods and are committed to promoting cooperation in this field by working With the cultural and scientific institutions of their countries, including universities and think tanks, and with the support of the Fondazione Italia Cina, a lighthouse in the history of Sino-Italian relations that will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2020. "
