Visit of the CCPIT China delegation in Italy

On May 25, a delegation from the CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) made an official visit to Italy, organized in close coordination with the local CCPIT. The representation, led by Mr. Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman CCPIT, was attended by Ms. Zhu Lingyan, Deputy Director General Investment Promotion Department, CCPIT China, and Mr. Zhang Gang, Director General CCPIT Milan. The visit touched Milan, Trieste and Rome with a program that included: the meeting with the heads of the Italy China Foundation and the Italian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, visits to the Kilometro Rosso in Bergamo and to the Authority of Port System of the Eastern Adriatic Sea - Port of Trieste.

The meeting in Milan was attended by Diana Bracco, Executive Vice President, Margherita Barberis, General Manager of the Foundation and Marco Bettin, Chief Operating Officer, and Secretary General of the Italian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, also represented by the President Pier Luigi Streparava.
During the visit to Palazzo Clerici, representatives of the CCPIT confirmed their interest and willingness to collaborate on several fronts to facilitate Italy-China bilateral relations, reiterated the strategic importance of the Belt and Road Initiative and therefore of Silk Road Business Council (in which FIC and CCIC participate for Italy) to develop initiatives and collaborations (such as the "Belt and Road Forum" organized in March in Trieste) and finally they wanted to know the activities of Italy China Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce also in report to the China International Import Expo scheduled for November 5-10 in Shanghai. Among the objectives of the CCPIT, in fact, in addition to confirming the active involvement and support of the Expo, there is also that of organizing in Beijing a consumer market exhibition lasting a few months that will be ideal for the expo in Shanghai, dedicated to imported products. In this regard, the Foundation and the Chamber have confirmed their willingness to become partners in the project both in the implementation and promotion phase in Italy.

The CCPIT delegation also confirmed the Chinese interest in investing in the European Union and in Italy: one of the motivations behind their trip, in fact, was to know and understand the business environment in Italy, and to check the possible possibilities of development. Also in this perspective, they visited the Kilometro Rosso di Bergamo, the technological science park specialized on innovation issues, and the Port Authority of the Port of Trieste to deepen the mechanisms of the Free Trade Zone (meeting realized in the of the projects carried out in collaboration with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region).

The visit thus emerged as confirmation of the positive nature of the contacts between our reality and that of the CCPIT and the interest in deepening them. From the standpoint of supporting companies, then, the tightening of relationships allowed us to identify a modus operandi to channel the requests of our partners and Italian companies, having the CCPIT as a privileged channel for the exchange of information and assistance.
